Is Gary Boyd Robert's book, "The Royal Descent of 600..." in error?

Mathew Kirkbride and Magdalena Dalston are my 9th great grandparents. In "The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants to the American Colonies or the United States, with a 2008 Addendum, Coda, and Final Edition" by Gary Boyd Roberts, page 165, it lists Mathew (Married to Magdalena Dalston) Kirkbride's parents as Bernard Kirkbride and Jane Featherstonehaugh. In other postings on the internet it is reported that at the church where Bernard is buried there is a plaque inscribed in Latin saying that he had no children and is the end of his line. Further, June Bristoe in a posting on this message board says, "Mathew's father was Bernard de Kirkbride (born just plain Kirkbride but retook the de)b 1610. Bernard did not marry in England and his son Mathew was raised by his grandparents.I have this family in my tree as far back as 1099 if you want any more info. june" Who are Mathews grandparents and his parents. Is Gary Boyd Robert's book in error? Is the plaque misconstrued to mean the wrong person? Does anyone have the answers? Byron N. Park,
