My Great Grand Mother was Viola Kirksey born in Coosa Co. abt 1875. Her mother was Liza or Eliza and was a slave. Viola married James Middlebrooks. She had two children that I know of Pearl Jane and Wilemina (Billie). When she died in Steubenville, Ohio in 1959, a very large amount of "white" relatives came from Alabama to her funeral---some from Mobile, Alabama. Please contact me if you have any information.
