Kirchner Family of Oconto, Wi
Posted by: William Martin (ID *****0650) Date: December 21, 2007 at 13:21:40

My grandmother Lena Kirchner married Alex Martin in the 1890's. She was born in 1863 and died of T.B. in 1921 in Middle Inlet, Wi. and is buried there. Her parents were John Michael Kirchner and Caroline Studer Kirchner, who lived on Oconto, Wi. and are buried in the Brookside cemetery, Oconto, Wi. He lived to almost 90,(died in 1909),and she at age 86,(died in 1915). A daughter Louisa L. is also buried there and possibly another daughter Hanna, who died as an infant in 1865. John and Caroline were both born in Prussia, Germany. His father's name was Frederick Kirchner who was reportedly an organist in a Lutheran Church there, and never came to this country. He may have had brothers named August and Fred. I have no information on Caroline's parents.

I would like to contact any living relatives. I have some pictures and a very limited history of the family, but would like to establish a dialogue with any of the family.

Thank you, William Alexander Martin
