You seem to be stuck at the same place I am. I too have seen Jasper Hodge and wonder since I've been told that Jasper Kissee/Keesee's wife Lucinda is a Hodge. I've written to the Ozark County Genealogical Society and they weren't able to provide much help. Seems the records we need were most likely destroyed in courthouse fires. They did provide me with information that Jane Kissee divorced Thomas Kissee, who had returned to Kentucky. The 1850 census lists Jasper, Thomas and Jane in the same household. I find this curious since I can't find Lucinda and they would have started their family by then. Also the society told me that Jasper had been a postmaster. Not a lot to go on. I have even tried to snoop around in South America, because it was suggested that so many southerners went to South America to keep from having to pledge an oath of allegiance to the US after the war. If you have any ideas where we might dig together on this, I'm open for suggestions. They appear from nowhere and disappear to nowhere.
