Janet,

I don't believe there is a connection between Kissee and Kissam/Kissan/Kissane. My understanding is that the Kissees came from France to Virginia and then spread out to KY, TN, MO, TX, OK and I'm sure many other places. But, I've also read information that Kissee is actually a derivative of the name La Caze or Caze. Further information says, Kissee could have come from a German derivative Kozee. I can trace my own line back to 1796 but no further at this point and they came from Alcase Lorraine, France. You might want to try Ancestry.com. They also have a board for finding your Irish roots. Good luck. Sherry
