The Elijah Kissee who was the son of Jesse Kissee (ca 1786-bet 1850/1855) was born ca 1822 in Kentucky. I dont' know more specifically than that. He married Susannah Baugh 10 Jan 1845 in Pulaski Co., KY. He is found in the following census records: 1850 Pulaski Co.; 1860 Lincoln Co., 1870-1890 Casey Co. The 1890 census indicates that he served in the Union Army as a Private with the 18th KY Cavalry, Sept. 1862-Sept. 1863. He is buried in the Mays Family Cemetery, Kidd's Store, Casey Co., KY, but the marker gives no dates. He died prior to the issuing of death certificates in KY. Susannah is not buried with him as far as I know, or the grave is not marked. You might want to request his Civil War pension papers if he applied for one, or Susannah's widow's pension papers if she applied for one.

From which of his children are you descended?
