Kissee Family Genealogy Forum

Cynthia Elizabeth Kissee was married to William Wright. They lived in Mammouth Springs, Arkansas when they had their 4 children. I have found a wedding record that I believe to be theirs. William H. Right and Cintha Elizabeth Reesee married April 25, 1878 in Ozark, Missouri. The story passed through the family was that Cynthia's family had to flee from the northern army as they came through and burned their entire farm to the ground. The story repeated was that Cynthia was only about 6 years old and all they escaped with was their lives and what silver items they could carry. My mother use to have a set of silverware that was said to be theirs. They were suppose to have fled into Arkansas from Tennessee or Kentucky? It's been a while since I've heard the story told. I know no facts, only the legend of Cynthia and her unknown family members. On my greatgrandmother's (Carmen Ercel Wright Jones) death certificate her mother is listed as Elizabeth Kissee, so not sure by what name she went by. Does anything sound familiar to anyone?
