I remember schnoz, schmuck, schmiel, and drek. Are they German? The Kitches had been in the country for two hundred years by that point, surely the language was not preserved so long. I don't know any German speakers, but I do have Jewish friends, so assumed the words were Yiddish. I would surely like to know where these words came from! Unfortunately those that would know are dead now.
