Beau, "Uncle Eph" was my grandfather Samuel's younger brother. Here is his obituary: 1918--Obit--Litchfield News Herald, New Series, Vol. 6, #116, page 1, Tues, May 21, 1918, price 2 cents--H. A. Great-Uncle Eph was pastor of the English Lutheran Church at DeSota, IL for 18 years. He married Rachel Gregory in Irving, IL May 2, 1861. For his children, and something on them, see my site . He had 10 children, all boys.
