If this helps any, Alexander M Kitch enlisted on 8/4/64 as a Private into "F" Co. OH 70th Infantry. He was Mustered Out on 5/23/65 at Albany, NY. The 1900 Census has him saying his Father was from KY, his mother from OH, and with his wife, 4 sons and 2 daughters living in Salem Twp, Lewis, MO. His wife was Cora Adeline Vincent.
I've been trying to find a Kitch from KY to match to this, without any luck. Would suggest you check NARA for Pension / Service records, may shed some light upon this.
