Hello, Pamela:
The Kitchen family I have researched for my husband's family were based in Simcoe County in the 1800's.You will find them in the 1851, 1861, 1871, 1891 and 1901 census returns for Simcoe County.
The first one I have been able to identify as behind our family is Jonathan Kitchen, born about 1824, Ancaster, Ontario, and his wife, Phebe (Rankin?), unknown.
Their children included Andrew, Charles (Lewis), and I believe about 3 other boys and at least one girl.Take a look at the Canadian census records on line for those years, and you can follow the family through. The main burial ground for them I believe to be Matchedash, as well as their main residences. My husband's line comes up to Andrew Miller Kitchen, and his wife, Eleanor Metcalfe (their name in one census is misspelled as Kitching.).
I hope that this may help.Good luck,
If you have any information on Jonathan, born in Ancaster County, Ontario, 1824, or 1827, I should be pleased to learn of it, because I have no names for his parents.
