OBIT: KITSON, Francis William Rollins
KITSON (Rollins) Bill passed away on January 21, 2008, in Langley, BC, at the age of 89. He was born Francis William Rollins on February 3, 1918, to Edward and Clara Rollins in Biggar, Saskatchewan. After the death of his father; Bill, his brothers and mother moved to Vancouver. His mother died in 1924. The children were separated and sent to different foster homes. Bill went to live with Jonathan and Eva Kitson in Sandspit. He was a WWII Veteran, worked as a fisherman and in ships stores. While living in Prince Rupert, he had a business, Barnacle Bill's, supplying deep-sea vessels. After moving to Langley he became active with his seniors group, enjoyed gardening, cooking, golf and playing bridge. Predeceased by his wife Emilie; brothers George, Ted, and Earl Rollins. Survived by sons Roger (Carol) and Michael (Denise) Kitson; stepchildren, Barbara (John) Routledge, Rae Dalgarno, John Cross; grandchildren Nicole (Chad) Grimm, Marissa (Chris) Logan, Natalie (Chad) Bickle, Matthew Kitson, Iain (Angie) McManamna, Leah (Shaun) Toplak, Kirsten (Travis) Beauchemin, Angela Dalgarno, and Anande, Hayden and Ana Cross; great grandchildren: Abigail Grimm; Brenin, Christine and Kayla McManamna; Kaitlin and Alexander Toplak; Aidan and Zoe Beauchemin; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at Southwind Estates Clubhouse 21164 - 88 Ave., Langley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
