Kettles/Kittles in Genesee Co., NY, early 1800s

Seeking information on a Kettle/Kittle family in Genesee Co., NY, who could have been the parents of the Emily Kettle listed in the 1850 Federal Census, Northwest Township, Williams Co., OH: Dwelling 739, Family 741, Thomas Whaley, age 63 and [Susannah], age 69; Dwelling 740, Family 742, John Whaley, age 29 and Rhoda, age 24, with two children and with 16-year-old Emily Kettle in their household. Because of Emily's age, her place of birth (NY), and the proximity of Northwest Township to Branch Co., MI, I speculate that she might be my gg-grandmother who married Alford Hamblet, a young farmer of Algansee, Branch Co., before or about 1854.

According to the History of Williams Co., NW Twp., p. 819, this Whaley family came west from Genesee Co., NY. Besides Whaley, names that might be associated with my Kettle/Kittle ancestors are Phelps, Griswold, and Van Curen. The 1880 census indicated that Emily’s parents were both born in PA.

Thanks for any help.
