Thank you, Ken. I am descended from John Jacob, Jr's sister Susanna who married Peter Rodgers. According to my records, on Nov. 10, 1847, Peter and Susanna (Kitzmiller)Tipton's daughter Mary Elizabeth Rodgers married David Tipton, brother of Solomon R. Tipton, who married Elizabeth Kitzmiller in 1851. Put another way, Solomon R. Tipton married his brother's wife's first cousin. It's fair to say that the families of these two Tipton brothers and Kitzmiller cousins should have been close. But here's an odd coincidence: according to my records, David's first child George was born 12/28/1846, a year before their marriage; and, Solomon R. Tipton's first child William H. was born Aug 5, 1850, 5 months before his marriage to Elizabeth. Were out-of-wedlock births that prevalent then or are my records wrong? Also, are you aware of any "Josephines" being born in that area about that time?
