Thanks for the information. It's what we had come up with also. My husband, Gary, is by profession a historian, and has done much of the research on my branch of the Banker/Bankert family. I'm descended from Jacob Bankert's middle son, Christopher, who took his family out to Ohio around 1803.

From documents in the Shriver Papers at the Maryland Historical Society, Esther was still alive around 1795, but had died by the time the sale of Jacob's property to the Shrivers was "finalized" in 1797. Don't know where she's buried -- probably at St. Mary's at Silver Run with Jacob, but her tombstone isn't there.

We're working with Jan Bankert of York to put togther a Bankert family website. Will keep you informed as to how it's going.
