Marilyn,

I am looking for a Henry Kizer that lived in or near Mendham, Sussex Co, New Jersey in 1786.

I found my information in an 1847 affidavit that reads in part "...Peter Emery then worked for Henry Kizer (uncle and neighbor) and that Mary Losee (daughter of Daniel Losee then of the Town of Mendham aforesaid) she then served at and worked for Thomas Land, a merchant in the place. ... That the new married couple did stop at this deponent's father's house for a day or two after the wedding and then went to Henry Kizer's to live until Peter Emery's time expired for which he had engaged to work for deponent's uncle Henry Kizer. ..." sworn by John Leopard/Lepard/Leppard of East Gwillimbury, York Co., Ontario, Canada.

So what I know is:
- the brothers John bc1770, Abraham & Jacob (twins) bc1774 Leppard had a Henry Kizer as an uncle in 1786.
- The Leppards treated Peter Emery like family (maybe he was)
- my Peter Emery left Sussex NJ for Northumberland, PA between 1786-1790
- the Leppards also moved to Northumberland, PA by 1790
- that there is also a George Kyser, Jacob Kyser and Martha Kyser in the 1790 Northumberland Co, Pa census.
- The Leppards and my Emerys left PA for East Gwillimbury, York Co., Ontario in early 1800s - possible that some of the Kisers did too.

I have only just come up with the possibility that the Leppards, Kizer AND Emery were connected, so need to do some more digging on the Kisers.

I had also made the quess that Jacob Kizer could be a brother to Henry Kizer. - a Jacob Kizer can be found in 1790 and 1800 in Northumberland Co. PA, and in 1810 there is a young Henry Kizer there as well - possibly Jacob's son.

The Leppard siblings consist of (possibilities) Henry, John, Abraham, Jacob, Christopher and Adam.

My Peter and Mary Emery had children: Nancy, William, Desiree, Mary Ann, John, Jacob, Peter and possibly a Daniel.

Don't know if the Leppard/Kizer will help you in your research but thought it might prove important so wanted to share it. Also wondered if you had come across any mention of the above?
