An AL Death record for Pearl KIZZIAH lists parents as "Jim and Mary (Carter) Kizziah." I have them as "James Thomas and Mary Jane (Carter) Kizziah. James Thomas was s/o Emanuel and Elizabeth Ann (Williams) Kizziah, Sr. and Emanuel was s/o William M. Kizziah, Sr. Most all of these Kizziahs/Kizzires are descendants of William, Sr. and the spelling split seems to have occured between his sons Robert and William, Jr. Robert and his descendants settled mostly in Fayette Co. and began using the Kizzire option. Those remaining in Tuscaloosa seemed to stay with the Kizziah version, most likely both versions phonetically pronounced with the trailing "r" sound. If you have any clarifications I would welcome them. You may contact me at "jjnewell 'at' nehp 'dot' net."
