Klasner Family Genealogy Forum

I am Linda Van Norman, (Knox, IN) also a decendant of Jacob Klasner, and his wife Avalinda. He was born in 1837 and died in 1903. I do not know who his parents were. His wife was born in 1842, and died in 1913. They are both burried at the Galien Cemetery in Michigan. I will email you (or anyone who's interested) pictures of his gravesite. He has a magnificent headstone erected by the "Woodmen of the World", it is in the shape of a tall tree trunk. His wife is burried with him. There is much info at the Three Oaks Michigan Public Library (Local History Room). Avalinda was born of Peter Critchet (1815-1896), and Margaret Critchet (1817-1890). Their gravesite is also in the Galien cemetery. I have pics of that too. They have a quite modern family stone, but all graves are from the 1890's, so someone is keeping them up. There are remnants around the gravesite of original stones that say "mother" and "father" barely readable from the wear of the weather over the years. I do not know who their parents were. I am related as follows: Jacob & Avalinda had a son named William D. Klasner, who was 5-6 in the 1880 census you mentioned. He was born in 1875. He had a son names Claude S. Klasner, who was my grandfather. My uncle (Claude A. Klasner) of Hebron IN. is also interested and actively researching our roots. We would very much like to meet some relatives who are also interested in the family history and share. My email is brentlinda@skyenet.net, my uncle's is BB1@netnitco.net.
