Hi Tom,
I got a Jakob Kleinhans in my pedigree chart, born on 16.06.1843 in Moerstadt / Germany. Moerstadt is just about 10 miles away from Dorn-Duerkheim, means from the guy you are searching for. His parents: Johannes (english: John) and Anna Margaretha. Since the children of "your" Jakob have been named the same as the parents of "my" Jakob, both Jakobs might be one person since this was a common procedure of naming children in that time.
However, since I dont have any information what happened to "my" Jakob Kleinhans - where he lived, where he died, if he had children ... it may have happened that he moved over to Dorn-Duerkheim and loteron to United States. I donīt know.
I keep on that track ....
If you interested in the relevant pedigree chart, have a look at (link "Stammbaum").
Best regards,
Arno Kleinhans
