James E. Kleist was the son of Edgar E. Kleist and Harriett Bulgrein/Bolgrein. I have been trying to connect this family to my family because family members say James was a cousin to my own grandfather Donald Kleist so if anyone can help me please leave a message. They may not have been first cousins if they were at all.
Edgar E. Kleist, son of Charles A.G. Kleist and Maria Vogat. Edgar and Harrietts children were:
1. Mary
2. James E.
3. Donald W.
4. Howard E.
5. John A.
6. Rose E.
Charles A. G. Kleist, son of John Gottlieb and Charlotte (Scherbert) Kleist. Charles was born December 31, 1864 in Varlan, Pomerania, Germany.
John Gottlieb Kleist, was the son of John and Jolica Kleist. John and Charlotte Kleist children were:
1. William E.
2. Charles A.G.
3. Ferdinand
4. Anna nee Kleist Roecker
The first two sons were born in Varlan, Germany.
John and Jolica Kleist children are as follows:
1. John b.March 17, 1843 Germany
2. Ferdnand
3. Charles
4. Augusta nee Kleist Scherbarth
5. Mrs. Siefert Rohde
Also if someone needs some information on this family I do have more information to tell. Thank you for your help.
