Hi Laura,
Sorry this has taken so long. I found information on August Edward Kleist from his death certificate. columbia co., WI vol 4 page 194 remark 342.

In regard to the question what does PA stand for; I copied that from the col. co. WI 1900 census report in regard to his naturalization. Could that mean Pennsylvania? Since our last contact have you found out anything else? I only have one sibling for Aug a brother Charles or Carl. Were there anymore? I have Carl's wife as Johanna Schmockel but not birth or death date. Only that they were married in Germany. Do you have any idea why they chose Portage when they came to the US? I still have no port of entry. Do you?
So many questions.....
