I have a Caroline Klemme Schneider Schmidt in my line. She had one sister and seven brothers. Three brothers came to the US, not sure about sister. My Caroline at one time lived in Peoria (prior to 1870 US Census when she and her husband were in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa. Caroline Klemme and her second husband had the following children: William, Harry, John, and Louise. Before they settled in Cedar Rapids, they lived in Dubuque, Iowa; Peoria, Illinois; and Galena, Illinois. Caroline was born in 1835 in Hannover , Germany. According to family letters, her father was a farmer, one brother ended up a wealthy farmer in Creston, Iowa, another a box ,manufacturer in Chicago, and a third a shoemaker. Does any of this ring a bell? The Peoria connection and the John, seem to be interesting. Barbara Gothie in Baltimore
