Pommerania (Pommern - German)was located in the northestern part of Germany. Some of the land was part of Poland. Pommerania was bordered by West Prussia to the east and Posen to the south and Mecklenburg to the west. Silesia was located south of Posen. The eastern border of Silesia bordered the southwestern part of Poland. Parts of Silesia are now parts of Poland and Czechoslovakia.
My Kliem family came to America in the 1890s and settled in Northern Iowa. There was a brother, William Kliem that disappeared. I had hoped he may have been part of your Texas Kliem family, but doesn't appear to be.
If I ever get farther back into the family and make a connection to your family, I will definately get in touch with you. Thanks!
