Hoping all you KLING researchers out there can help me out! For years, I've been trying to "shoe horn" my wife's KLING family in the vast lineage from JOHN and ANNA BEAR. Unfortunately, it just wasn't working out! I got alot of support from many of you, but the pieces were just not fitting.
Now I have a totally different scenario for my KLINGS, which reaches back to Maryland. Here's what I currently have:
1. JOEL KLING Sr. According to the 1880 U.S. census, JOEL KLING SR. was born in Maryland around 1788. His wife's first name was Mary. According to the 1830 US Census, Joel Sr. was living in Shrewsbury Twp., York Co., PA. The last record of Joel Sr. is in the 1850 US Census where he is living in Walker Twp., Centre Co, PA and is listed as a farmer. He died between 1850 and 1870.
2. JOEL KLING JR. was born on 12 Nov 1830 in Union Co., PA. He married Albertina Markle, 3 Feb 1857. (Her family was also from Maryland.) JOEL JR. died on 6 Jun 1915 in Hublersburg, Centre Co, PA, at age 84.
3. ELMER ELLSWORTH KLING born on 3 Sep 1861 in Snydertown, Centre Co., PA. He married Emma Harriett Harnden, 7 Feb 1884 in Stormstown, Centre Co., PA. He died on 26 Sep 1927 in Altoona, Blair Co.
4. FOSTER E. KLING was born on 13 Jul 1885 in Bellwood, Blair Co., PA; He married Grace Irene McCaulley, circa 1904. He died 2 Feb 1930 in Altoona, Blair Co., PA.
So, this line seems to have been totally separate from the JOHN and ANNA BEAR line. But, I have not seen any traffic on this forum about KLINGS in Maryland. Any input from my colleagues here will be deeply appreciated.
