There are three lines of the Kling family in which the name Johan Ludwig Kling appears. Variations of the name are John Ludwig Kling, John Luthur Kling, Juan Luis Kling, Jean Lewis Kling.
One of the Johan Ludwig Klings was an officer in the Revolutionaly War from Pennsylvania and another Johan Ludwig Kling was an enlisted man from New York. The other Kling was Henrick Kling who first lived in New York and then moved to Lousiana.
Would there be anyone who knows where these Klings came from and whether they are related?
A book by Margaret E. Kling says the Johan Ludwig Kling from New York came to America about 1754 from Wurtemburg Germany. Wurtemburg is a large area with many towns and cities.
