The name klinkenberg is an old neme in the west of the Netherland. But at least in 1 case I know of a transition of Klingenberg to Klinkenberg: My ancester Jurriaan (Jurreaen, and other spellings)lived in Deventer upto around 1752, moved to Edam(North Holland)where his sons name chenged over next decades to Klinkenberg, possibly because that was a well known name in the area.
