Dear Uwe,

On the meaning of the name or word Klingenberg, I asked a German from Stuttgart long resident in the US what he thought the name meant. He ventured castle bell or bell castle as the literal translation. I am not familiar with the German historical landscape. It could be a fortress tower alone.
My Klingenberg ancestors appear to be from the Hamburg and Holstein area. Itzehoe is described somewhere as being part of the Plon or Ploen area.
Thankyou for your descriptive histories.

Regards,
Carsten
