Hi Faye,
Will get in touch with my father about our heritage, but he doesn't like to talk about "the past", as he has not had anything to do with his family for years. I do know they had a doll factory before 2nd World War. Holzminden is appr. 100 km (miles?) from Hamburg, as I flew into Hamburg when I went back years ago.
Very likely we start on the same tree a few generations ago, but until my father is willing to give info, doubt if I have the ability to trace my roots. I can't even find mention of the ship we came to Canada on in June 1953 - Arosa Cumm, arriving in Quebec City. At least that's what Dad says, and my mother passed away, so have no way of getting any further.
Thanks for your reply. I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada.
Dolores
