Hans Ulrich Klor: Switzerland, Germany; 1650-1700
Some of my Klohr/Klor ancestors moved from Switzerland to the Rheinland-Pfalz area of Germany, and eventually some moved to the US, mainly in IL.The oldest known ancestor is Hans Ullrich Klor, of Niederkulm, Bern Canton, Switzerland. He was born there c. 1650, but migrated to Haardt in the Rheinland-Pfalz and died there before 1702.His surname seems to have had varied spellings: Klor, Clor, Klohr, Glor.Eventually, in time, in Rheinland-Pfalz, the predominant spelling became Klohr, and there continue to be numerous Klohr families in that area.I would appreciate it if someone could provide more information on the Swiss origins of the Klors, specifically this Hans Ullrich Klor.
