During my research in Ashland County (WI) I might have come across (the name) Harry Sylvester Kluck. If I recall, he was a locomotive engineer and was killed in wreck. He was born at Cuba City, Grant Co., WI. I will check my notes.

I believe that the (present day) "Kluck's" of Portage County, Wisconsin, have all descended from Andreas Kluczykowski. The Kluczykowski's were/are ("Kaszuba's")from Lubon, Kosciercyna(sp?);Very near Klukowa Huta. This family came to America via Quebec, Canada, in 1861-62. The first members to come, in 1861, stayed for a time in Renfrew/Wilno/Barry's Bay, Ontario, where there is still a large number of Kaszubian descendants.

Folk's who have done much more research than I have, have never been able to connect "Gen. Von Kluck" (a decidedly German name), to Kluczykowski (Kaszubian-Pole).
