Dear Melissa, I have seen the name spelled with and 'n' also and have wondered if it was the same family. According to our info this family came from Mecklenburg area of Germany. Have you been able to determine whee your family originated? We think they came to this country about 1840-48 through New York; they settled in Wisconsin, then to Iowa and eventually to Washington State. Our immigant is buried in Hawkeye, IA. Maybe we can be of help to each other.
