My great grandfather was Joseph Knab from Mokrin. He was born in 1876 and died in 1937 in Philadelphia. The 1910 census shows Joseph's family living with his brother Albert in Philadelphia. Joseph's father was Frank Knab and mother was Katerina Heigel (per Joseph's death cert.). He was married to Susanna Eberhardt and I know of 7 children: Joseph, Jacob, Anna, Hermina, Helen, William and Elizabeth (my grandmother). Jacob was in Europe until the early 1920's. I don't have access to all of my data right now; however, I remember seeing on a ship manifest that Joseph was coming to visit his brother or uncle Willi. The Ellis Island web site database contains a few ship manifests with Knabs.
