Knaug/Knopf/Kanoff/Conave/Knoft? New Jersey 1700's

I have been looking for Johannas Kanoff/Knopf who was married to Julianna Catherine Klee/Klie about 1727 living in Sussex Co., New Jersey. She remarried later to Johannes Schnuch/John Snook.

I came across this NJ will Abstract from the NJ State Archives....which has a John Snuke and Johannis Conave listed for doing the inventory.

It was written January 24, 1767 - George Duseberry's will 'of Newton, Sussex Co., NJ'; Wife Cattorn....son John and daughters [unnamed]....Witnessed by John Hockabary, Peter Space, Japheth Byram and Inventory was don Feb. 23, 1767 by John Snuke [Snook] and Johannis CONAVE [Kanoff?] It also says See George Teireberger.

Is there a connection?

The only name that comes close to Duseberry in my files is Mary Ann Dusenberry who married Martin R. Kays. Son of John Kays born 1738? and Sarah Hull bron 1754 both died in Newton, NJ.

Also searching for the Knoft's family and wonder if all these names were just creative ways of writting the same names according to how it sounded to the writer!
