My Great-Great-Grandfather was from the Isle of Man.Thomas was born 1/4/1821 and was christened in Douglas. His parents were John Kneale & Elizabeth Cottier who were married in Kirk Braddan 1/9/1805. Thomas was one of 16 children as far as I can make out. They were all born between 1806-1835.Thomas came to Australia from Liverpool where he had probably settled for work as a carver & gilder. I'm not sure of the time of his arrival here but feel that it must have been early 1850's and he married in 1859.

I sincerely hope that this information may help some of you fellow searchers

Kind Regards,

P>S> I wish you all good luck with your searches.
