Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I don't know James Knecht, but my mother might. Peter N's birth family is listed in the 1880 census in Brooklyn, you can get it on the LDS familysearch site. The names are a little strange - Emilie is usually Emily, what looks like Limel is probably Simon, or James Simon, the oldest son. Listed as Emma is Emily Charlotte, named for her mother and grandmother. The father is Peter and his birth family is listed in the 1860 census in Cochecton, NY. They all immigrated in the 1850's from Bavaria.
Peter N married Anna Arnaud 8 Sep 1897 in Brooklyn. Their children were Stanley, Vivian Hazel (or Hazel Vivian - she is listed as Vivian in both the 1920 and 1930 censuses), Eleanor, and Millard. I would be happy to give you any information I have that you need, and would love to get all the information you have on your branch of the family. Just email me.
