Hi,
Just stumbled over this page looking for something completely else. I'm into genealogy of a Knecht family that came from somewhere in Germany to the then Czar-Russian province of Bessarabia, between Odessa and Romania. Is there any link in the US Knecht forum, which I think I have detected now, to this area? I know that some Knechts from Bessarabia immigrated to the US. I have spotted one posting on your site which mentions a Justine Knecht married to a Daniel Ring who homesteaded in Nebraska around the 1900s. Those two are in my files! And I could help further there. It's my grandfather on my mother's side who is a Knecht. On my father's side I'm Swedish, if someone on the forum has questions about Sweden.
