I did not find your William Albert Knedler in my files, but it is fairly likely that he is connected to my line as they are in SE Iowa, too.
I did find this on LDS:
Birth Date: 13 Dec 1910
Death Date: Jun 1968
Social Security Number: 480-09-8242
State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Iowa

I did have this in my notes for Thomas Irvin Knedler who is connected to my line:
" Hi! My name is Thomas Irvin Knedler, I am trying to start some reasearch on my family name. My father's name is Irvin Dale Knedler, he was born in Fairfield, Iowa, I believe his fathers name was Estel Decora Knedler. Estel was married to Mary (Warner) Knedler in Iowa. Thats a start with a little info I know. I appreciate any help you may be able to provide.
Tom Knedler <> "

There is a Jon Kent Knedler who m. <Donna?> 18 April 1981 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. His father was William Paul Knedler of Farmington, Van Buren Co., Iowa.

Also, Lydia Knedler [d/o George] who d. 24 June 1907 in Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., Iowa. She may have been mentally impaired and the rest of the family apparently looked out after her. [There is a mental institution in Mt. Pleasant.] She did have a son William Jasper Carroll Knedler [b. 13 May 1852 in Ohio] but she was never married.

Have you checked census records? Mount Pleasant is in Henry Co and Fairfield in Van Buren Co., if that is helpful? FYI - I grew up in Van Buren Co. as a child and my grandpa was a Knedler of Davis and Van Buren counties.

Also, there are the spelling variations Knoedler, Kneedler, Knedler and Needler. You might check those GenForums, too, if you haven't already. I have posted some of my line on Knoedler GenForum.

Let me know what you find and if I can be of any further help [such as maybe checking the census for you when I go to the genealogy and historical libraries].

God bless,
Freda Hart-Riley
