I am Judy (Kneifl) Schrader. I would think that our names come from the same source despite the difference in the spelling at the end. The Kneifl family that I belong to apparently originated in Czechoslovakia but was living in Baden, Austria at the time they came to the United States (1850's). The family, consisting of the parents, Jacob and Theresa Kneifl and their six children, Thomas, Martin, Philip,Frank, Agnes, and Maria went to LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Martin, Philip, and Agnes (Schieffer) eventually found their way to Dixon and Cedar Counties in northeast Nebraska. Eleanor Arens and I are both interested in hearing from you. We hope that this information is of help to you.
