Elizabeth Knerr/Kanarr m Michael Shoop/Schupp prob bef. 1830
One of the Northumberland County histories says that the Elizabeth Kanarr who married Michael Shoop, probably before 1830,was the daughter of a Rev. George Kanarr, and also says that Rev. Kanarr had two sons who were also ministers, Isaiah and Josiah.
Is this factual?I have had no luck finding anything about a Rev. George Kanarr.Elizabeth and Michael Shoop are buried at the Peace Reformed Church cemetery, Berrysburg, Dauphin, PA.I [and the folks who have been helping me] have not found baptisms for either of them.Their son, Levi, [m Lydia Hepler], moved to Shamokin, Northumberland, PA, and the snippet about Elizabeth being the daughter of Rev. George Kanarr was in a biog. sketch of Levi M. Shoop, grandson of Levi and Lydia, and great-grandson of Michael and Elizabeth.
What was Elizabeth's relationship, if any, to John Knerr [wife Catherine Dunkleberger] to whom Michael Shoop sold land in Northumberland County in the 1840s, before he moved to Dauphin County?John's parents are said to be Isaac and Anna Catherina Shaffer Knerr.Did this Isaac possibly have a brother George? They'd be of the same generation...Very confusing.Hope someone can help.
Thanks.
