Fred Grant Knickerbocker
I am trying to verify Fred Grant Knickerbocker, born 25 Aug. 1902 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, to Frederick Grant Knickerbocker and Dora Senne. In the 1920 census, Fred G. Knickerbocker, age 18, was a recruit at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station near Chicago.Fred's father was born in Michigan and his mother in Illinois, which is correct. I lose him after that.In the WWI Draft Index his occupation was truck driver.
There is a Fred J. Knickerbocker in the 1930 census, Chicago, born 1902, Michigan, parents born Michigan, married to Catherine (Bohan), the father of Ira and occupation is chauffeur. This is the same Fred who shows up in the WWII Army Enlistment records as Fred J.I found an obit for Catherine Knickerbocker in the Chicago Daily Tribune 15 June 1958, wife of Fred J.There's that dratted "J." again.I'm just not sure if this guy is my Fred G.
Anyone ever heard of either Fred Grant Knickerbocker of Kalamazoo or Fred J. Knickerbocker of Chicago?
Fred Grant Knickerbocker descends from the Silas Knickerbocker family of Armada, Macomb County, Michigan, and Calhoun County, Michigan, which I research.I am happy to correspond with anyone interested in this family.
