Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum

First, thanks everyone for your postings about Lydia Hollis and Moses Knighton, both born in Fairfield County, SC (Moses in 1791), moved to Randolph County, GA about 1843, and died there, buried side-by-side in the Benevolence, Randolph County, GA cemetery (her headstone shows no dates). Have we come to a consensus about her yet? Other than the 1840 census listing her as Head-of-household with dependent children, do we know anything factual about her prior to the move to GA? We know the names of (some of) her children and that they (by and large) took the Knighton name as adults, but has anyone found anything at all about her in SC? I know that Gene Allred suggests she was the widow of a Hollis and a relative of the Knightons, but I haven't found any evidence. Has anyone else? Any scrap of information would be greatly appreciated. Jim Reddick, JimReddick@aol.com
