Knighton - Chesterfield/Sheffield - WW1

I have come across a newspaper cutting concerning my relative who was killed in the First World War. I see also on the same cutting is the account of Lt. Knighton as follows:

Lieut. G H Knighton, only son of the late Mr. G H Knighton and Mrs Knighton of 57 Rutland Road, Chesterfield and formerly of Barrow Hill, was dangerously wounded in the back by gunshot on October 12th (1917?). On Sunday his mother received a telegram from the War Office stating that she would be permitted to see him, he being in the Second Red Cross Hospital, Rouen, and she left for France on the same day. Lieut. Knighton is by profession a chartered accountant in Sheffield. He received his education at the Chesterfield Grammar School and the Nottingham High School. When the Sheffield City Battalion was formed in September 1914, he was one of the first to join, and about a year ago he received his commission in the York and Lancs. He was gassed and invalided home, and returned to France in August last. He is 26 years of age and single.

Thought this may be of interest to any Knighton researchers. I'm not sure of the date this was published except that it was probably early in 1918 and was possibly 'The Derbyshire Times' (Chesterfield).

Happy Hunting!
