Shirley,
Mamie Knighton was my husband's grandmother. Her father's name was Vernon Knighton and he was married to Kate Burke. However they were divorced and she apparently remarried or was married to someone else prior to her marriage to Vernon. Vernon's parents were James Knighton and Annie Adams. The family was from Orange County, VA very close to Fredericksburg. I have more info but am not at my home at the moment.
