Can anyone out there give me more information on these two people?
(1) JOSIAH KNIGHTON married SARAH MORRIS in PULASKI CO., GA on 18 Jan., 1849. They were living in LAURENS CO., GA (which borders on Pulaski County) in the 1850 census (pg. 252). This census shows Josiah age 35 (therefore born about 1815) and Sarah age 16 (therefore born about 1834). There were no children in the household at that time.
(2) JOSIAH A. KNIGHTON, who served in Company K, 49th Regiment, of the Georgia Volunteer Infantry, CSA and was killed at the Battle of Second Manassas on 29 Aug., 1862. This regiment was raised in Pulaski Co., GA and was also known as the "Pulaski Grays". Regiment records show that Josiah A. Knighton was born about 1840. Daniel Knighton (born about 1838) and Joseph A. Knighton (born about 1826) also belonged to this regiment.
Any information on these two will be greatly appreciated.
