Hello Michael,

Thomas Robert Knighton (b. Aug 1855 in Arkansas, probably Columbia Co.); 7th child of Robert Larrage Knighton(b.Sept 1818 in Fairfield Co,SC)and Mary E. Lewis (b.Jan 1824 in Ga). Thomas Robert Knighton married in 1891 to Annie L. Ogwyn (b. Sept 1867 in Arkansas), daughter of Augustus H. and Sarah J. Ogwyn.
Robert L, Thomas M, and Alexander were brothers and sons of Samuel Knighton and Nancy Lawrence (Laughbridge/Lardgrigh)of Fairfield Co, South Carolina.
Samuel Knighton was the son of Thomas Knighton. When Thomas Knighton died, all the family, but brother, Moses, moved to Gadsden Co, Florida. They can be found on the 1830 federal census. Then the families moved to Randolph Co, Georgia to be on the 1840 & 1850 census. They can be found living side by side or near each other. Many of the siblings married in Randolph Co or Stewart Co, Georgia. Samuel moved with his children to Columbia Co, Arkansas. He is living with his son, Thomas M. Knighton and family. Many of the family members are buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Stamps, Arkansas.
I hope this helps you. There is much information on these family lines.
Regards, Barbara
