Decatur County Journal
March 18, 1915

Henry C. Finkbone was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, in 1841 and died in Decatur County, Iowa, March 7, 1915, being at the time of his death 73 years, 7 months and 12 days old. In his eleventh year he moved with his parents to Illinois, where his father died in 1857 and his mother in 1870.

In 1871 he was united in marriage with Miss. Emily Knipe, at Danville, Illinois, where he was then making his home. To this union were born eleven children, of whom the following survive him: A.N. Finkbone, Mrs. Ada Ripple, J.G. Finkbone, Mrs. Rosa E. McVey, W.W. Finkbone, Mrs. Lulu Hampton, Charles A. Finkbone, and Mrs. Allie A. Webster. Two daughters, Mary A. and Stella S., died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at the Leon Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Reverend Guy J. Fansher, Pastor of the church. A quartette from the choir sang two hymns at the service. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones in the loss of their loved one.
