Searching for confirmed family history ELIZABETH KNEISSLE who died ca 1759 Lancaster Co PA, wife of ANDREAS (ANDREW) KAUFFMAN pioneer ancestor Lancaster Co who died there ca 1743. The LDS Kauffman charts show she was born 1670 in Schiltack Offenberg Baden Germany, dau of Anthony Kneisley (Kneisele)and wife Magdelena (lnu).
I have enjoyed reading posts by Dwayne(and others) Knisley and Nicely forums for illuminating info Mennonite sufferage and migration Switzerland to Rhineland Palatinate (Pfalz)and on to Holland and America. Kauffman(Coffman) researcher mentioned Conference of Mennonite Elders in Manheim who decided on mass settlement in Lancaster Co PA. Elizabeth's husband Andrew was prob born in Palatinate of outcasts from Switzerland and arrived 1717 with large group Mennonite Palatines and took land grant along Little Conestoga Creek with neighbors such as Erisman, Tuber, Brubaker, Hershey, Kindig, Herr, Shank, Snyder, Baer and others whose names are familiar to those tracing families to that area.
There seems to be some confusion about Elizabeth's dpob, family history, mother, arrival in Amer, etc that I hope experienced hands can help me clear up. Much appreciate any clarification. Thanks. Bill willcoff@hotmail.com
