These and another 26 possible variations of the original Jakob Nusli family are related. Go to and search on your family name. It should take you to the Nicley Surname DNA website. We currently have a Nicely and a Knisely tested and we matched perfectly indicating a common anscestor. Another individual with the last name of Kneisly has submitted his DNA for testing an we expect he will also match. If you are a male of the Nusli line with any of the 30 variations of the name you can also submit a DNA sample for testing. Details are on the site. Only males from the direct line would be able to be compared. They compare the Y chromosome which is passed father to son etc for many centuries. We are going to try to establish a link to all the variations of the spelling and construct a tree containing as many branches as possible.
