how did the K get in front of nussli ?

thanks to all the great info supplied by this forum I was able to trace the knisley line from greene county ohio back through fayette county ohio, pike county ohio,woodstock virginia,lancaster county pennsylvania, and switzerland. I am very curious why Antonius Kneisly/kneissle came up with such a different spelling of Nussli. His father Hans Nussli and his decendants all spelled their names nussli. Why is the K in front ??? Does anybody have a clue???
