KNOBEL from Argentina
Posted by: Andres Knobel (ID *****6647) Date: December 08, 2002 at 13:29:54

Hi, my name is Andres Knobel, I'm 18 years old and I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I'm looking for information about my past and about the history of the Knobel surname.

I know little about my family. My grandfather, Elias Knobel, was born in Buenos Aires, and died in 1967. He had a little brother, Mauricio Knobel.

I know there were a Mauricio and a Elias Knobel in Brazil too, so they might have been cousins, or something.

But I know little about their parents and grandparents. I think they came from towns between Germany and Poland, and they came here before the 1st World War.

If anyone knows anything about Knobels who emmigrated to South America, or if someone can tell me how I can access the European birth register, please contact with me.

One last question for those who are Knobel: are you jewish?

Thanks,
Andy Knobel
